What is Piquette, and why did we create it?
Piquette is a beverage with roots in French farming traditions, enjoyed by workers centuries ago as a "second wine" made from rehydrated pomace. Naturally low in alcohol and delightfully spritzy, it’s a refreshing drink that embodies resourcefulness and simplicity. When we learned about this unique tradition, we were inspired to bring it to life in our own way.
Our version of Piquette is crisp, fresh, and irresistibly light—the perfect drink for long summer days.
To create it, we rehydrated Muscat and Frontenac Gris pomace with water, allowing it to macerate for about seven days before pressing. To enhance the flavour, we added semi-fermented Gewürztraminer to co-ferment, resulting in a truly vibrant beverage.
Expect bright tart citrus notes, juicy apricot, and a hint of floral hibiscus in every sip. It’s clean, refreshing, and incredibly crushable—your new summer staple.
